"2016 Tea Ware by Hong Kong Potters" Competition Results

 

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and organised by the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, the  "2016 Tea Ware by Hong Kong Potters" competition has attracted 276 entrants with 380 tea sets submitted. It is the highest ever recorded entrants among the previous competitions. The result comes out with 11 winning awards and 93 participating artists selected by a panel of adjudicators. In coming December, 116 selected tea sets will be on display at the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware.

Adjudication panel includes Mr Alan Chan, Dr Fung Siu Han, Mr Ho Tai Kwan and Ms Wan Lai Kuen. The museum had also invited for the first time Taiwan expert in tea and tea ware, Mr Chee Jung-Sien from Taiwan to join the adjudication panel so as to enhance the standard of the competition.

The competition was divided into School Category and Open Category. Basing on the criteria of the originality, creativity, technical competence and functionality of each entry, the adjudication panel had selected winners for the first, second and third prizes in both categories, and winners for prizes of excellence in the Open Category. The results are as follows:
