Beyond the frames: from perceiving frames of context to experiencing art in itself

Overview

In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the HKMoA, a commissioned multisensory and space-oriented experiential installation by Hong Kong artist Ng Tsz Kwan will be displayed to embody the visual storyline transformed from the museum's four core collections. It attempts to break the audiences' predetermined ways of art appreciation, enables them to focus on and explore more about the artworks. Audience can interact with the installation by choosing images of collection highlights preset in the kiosk to create a new visual storyline. The installation provokes the viewers into reflecting on how they see and understand art from the varying frames of different underlying contexts.
