Let's Talk about Tea through the Ages

This exhibition introduces the history of Chinese tea drinking and features various kinds of tea ware, from the Western Zhou (1027 B.C. – 771 B.C.) to the 20th century.

The exhibition is also one of the activities in the Chinese Culture Promotion Series. The LCSD has long been promoting Chinese history and culture through organising an array of programmes and activities to enable the public to learn more about the broad and profound Chinese culture. Seal Carving in Lingnan

Exhibition Venue: The K. S. Lo Gallery (1/F)

Featuring around 60 Chinese seals generously donated by the K. S. Lo Foundation, this exhibition introduces the history of Lingnan seal carving and the cultural interflow between Hong Kong and Mainland China in the early days.

The online collection available on the Hong Kong Memory web portal showcases the images of seals and textual materials of the abovementioned exhibition, viewers could appreciate the seal carving and catch a glimpse of Hong Kong seal community in the bygone days, from which to trace the paths of the development of sigillography in Hong Kong and examine the role of Hong Kong in the legacy of Lingnan seal carving.

This exhibition features rare Chinese ceramics dating back to the Song (960 - 1279), Yuan (1271 - 1368) and Ming (1368 - 1644) dynasties, and a selection of seals from the late Ming dynasty to the 20th century, generously donated by the K. S. Lo Foundation.
